Muziek van Kurt Weill en zijn tijdgenoten
Een nieuw en bijzonder concertprogramma van kamermuziekensemble The Hague String Trio, met zangeres Lucy Woodward, bassist/arrangeur Marijn van Prooijen, drummer Vinsent Planjer en regisseur Annechien Koerselman, waarin de muziek van Kurt Weill, zijn tijdgenoten en zijn samenwerking met songwriters als Bertolt Brecht, Langston Hughes en Maxwell Anderson centraal staat.
Het concert bevat klassiekers als Alabama Song, September Song, Lost in the Stars en Charlie Chaplin’s nostalgische Smile. Artiesten worden belicht die uit turbulente tijden zijn gekomen, aan vervolging zijn ontsnapt, continenten en genres hebben doorkruist, van klassiek tot jazz, van Europa tot Amerika, gedwongen zijn geweest te emigreren op zoek naar een beter leven terwijl ze Lost in the Stars waren.
